BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS

 

We encourage all residents to be a part of and

take part in your municipal government.  Our volunteer boards

and commissions provide a valuable service for our residents.

Board of Health:        Reviews all health issues, including all violations, sanitary sewer problems, brought to the Township’s attention by the Health Inspectors; oversees the Emergency Medical Technicians; handles all vital statistics; handles the rabies clinic for the Township.

 

Cable

Advisory Board:         This board establishes guidelines and makes recommendations concerning the cable television franchise application/renewal process while reviewing and monitoring any franchise awarded.

Also it resolves citizen complaints regarding cable companies.

 

Council On The Arts: Their mission is to plan year-round arts  programs for all ages of Middle Township residents.

 

Ethics Board:             The Ethics Board’s mission is to respond to written complaints, investigate and hold hearings, if necessary, pertaining to the conduct of any local government officer or employee serving the municipality that may be in conflict with the Municipal Code of Ethics or Financial Disclosure requirements.

 

Planning Board:         Hears all site plans/subdivision; reviews all zoning changes; adopts the Township’s Master Plan; creates the zoning ordinance and site plan/subdivision ordinances.

 

Recreation

Advisory Board:         Advises Recreation Department on programs available and helps to coordinate and promote projects and events in recreation, sports and community celebrations.

 

Rent Leveling

Board:                         Reviews all applications for rent increases in Mobile Home Parks.  Committee made up of tenants, owners and at large citizens.

 

Senior Advisory

Board:

 

Shade Tree

Commission:               Committee dedicated to the preservation of trees and shrubs in the Township for environmental, ecological and beautification benefits.  This committee also advises and encourages the planting of trees and shrubs for new site plans.

 

Traffic Advisory

Committee:                 Reviews all site plans for possible traffic problems and conditions; surveys and makes recommendations for parking areas; stop signs and hazardous intersections.  Advises the Township Committee on various violations concerning traffic flow.  

 

Zoning Board of

Adjustment:                Hears all variances and site plans in conjunction with use variance. 

                                    Interprets zoning ordinances.
