WORKSESSION AGENDA

CALL TO ORDER:

 

            Mayor’s announcement:  I hereby declare that notice has been given to the Herald Times, the Atlantic City Press and posted on the bulletin board of the Middle Township Municipal Building, stating the time and place of the following meeting, as required in P.L. 1975, Chapter 231 of the State of New Jersey. (Sunshine Law).

Notice of this meeting was properly given in Resolution No. 40-08 entitled “Establishing Work Session Meeting Nights” which was adopted by Township Committee of the Township of Middle on January 7, 2008

 

Members present are Mayor Doughty, Committeemember DeLanzo & Committeemember Barry.

 

Clerk/Business Administrator James Alexis, Deputy Clerk Dawn Stimmel, Municipal Solicitor James Pickering, Municipal Engineer Vincent Orlando.

b.       Steve Benn Forester, Atlantic City Electric – Maintenance of Transmission Lines

c.       John Coggins, Waste Management – Restructuring of pick up routes throughout the township.

d.      Towing fee increase (Request of towing companies to increase per tow fee by additional $20.00 due to increasing fuel cost.) Discussion of towing fees will be discussed at a later date by Committee and Administrator.

MOTION TO ADJOURN THE MEETING:

 

Vincent Modica:  Want committee to pass resolutions to keep pesticides out of Middle Township.  Suggested they look at other Townships to see exactly what affects these pesticides have and what the pesticides do.

 

Steve Barry:  Do you mean to see if it works or what the ecological dangers are?

 

Vincent Modica:  To see what the ecological dangers are.

 

Betty McGurk:  Wanted to know if Committee received the pamphlets from the Atlantic City Electric representative……if not, she can bring hers to us……she spoke about testing on animals and amounts to be used.

 

Madelyn Filipski:  Stated she put the NuVisioning flyer in front of each committee member…suggestions of things that the Township might think about….this is what Sea Isle City r residents put before their new 5 man committee.  Also wanted to  know if it was true that the department heads were told they had to cut their budgets by $1500 in each department so that a new person could be hired.

 

Mayor Doughty &  Committeeman Barry:  No, that is not true.
