I hereby declare that notice has been given to the Herald Times, the Atlantic City Press and posted on the bulletin board of the Middle Township Municipal Building, stating the time and place of the following meeting, as required in P.L. 1975, Chapter 231 of the State of New Jersey. (Sunshine Law).

The Township Committee met on the above date at 6:00 PM at the Middle Township Municipal Building.  Members present were Mayor Doughty, Committeemember Leusner and Committeemember DeLanzo, Clerk/Business Administrator Alexis, Attorney Gorman, Engineer Orlando, Deputy Clerk Kimberly Tomkinson.

 

 

1.       RESOLUTION – AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO SIGN APPLICATION FOR FUNDING FOR WHITESBORO/ EDGEWOOD PHASE II SANITARY SEWER PROJECT – On motion by           seconded by                    and passed on roll call, the following resolution was adopted. -- TABLED

 

2.       RESOLUTION – LOCAL PUBLIC CONTRACT – BOND SERVICES – MCMANIMON & SCOTLAND – WHITESBORO/EDGEWOOD PHASE II SANITARY SEWER PROJECT – On motion by           seconded by                    and passed on roll call, the following resolution was adopted. -- TABLED

 

3.       RESOLUTION – LOCAL PUBLIC CONTRACT – ENGINEERING SERVICES – HATCH MOTT MACDONALD - WHITESBORO/EDGEWOOD PHASE II SANITARY SEWER PROJECT – On motion by           seconded by                    and passed on roll call, the following resolution was adopted. -- TABLED

 

4.       RESOLUTION – LOCAL PUBLIC CONTRACT – LEGAL SERVICES – BRUCE GORMAN - WHITESBORO/EDGEWOOD PHASE II SANITARY SEWER PROJECT – On motion by           seconded by                    and passed on roll call, the following resolution was adopted. -- TABLED

 

5.       RESOLUTION – LOCAL PUBLIC CONTRACT – AUDIT SERVICES – GLEN ORTMAN - WHITESBORO/EDGEWOOD PHASE II SANITARY SEWER PROJECT – On motion by           seconded by                    and passed on roll call, the following resolution was adopted. -- TABLED

 

6.       RESOLUTION NO. 169-03 – AUTHORIZE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH COMCAST FOR HIGH-SPEED INTERNET PRO SERVICE – On motion by Committeemember DeLanzo seconded by Committeemember Leusner and passed on roll call, the following resolution was adopted.

WHEREAS, the Middle Township Police Department wishes to enter into agreement with Comcast for high-speed Internet services, and

WHEREAS, this contract will be under a month to month term assessed at a $95.00 monthly service fee, and

WHEREAS, there will be no installation or termination fees charged to the Middle Township Police Department.

BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Committee of the Township of Middle, the governing body thereof, that Police Captain William Scott Webster be and hereby is authorized to sign the agreement with Comcast for High-Speed Internet Pro Service.

As the Chief Financial Officer of the Township of Middle, I acknowledge the sum of $______________  has been bid for the following service or items__________________        It is further certified that sufficient funds are available from the following appropriation or ordinance to cover this contract:________________________________________.

7.       RESOLUTION NO. 170-03 – APPROVE FAMILY LEAVE – NICOLE SWEITZER – On motion by Committeemember DeLanzo seconded by Committeemember Leusner and passed on roll call, the following resolution was adopted.

BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Committee, the Governing Body of the Township of Middle, County of Cape May and State of New Jersey, that the Family Leave for Nicole Sweitzer from May 1, 2003 through August 1, 2003 utilizing some accumulated time and some unpaid time for a period not to exceed 12 weeks, is hereby approved.

 

8.       RESOLUTION NO. 171-03 – ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RESIGNATION – On motion by Mayor Doughty seconded by Committeemember Leusner and passed on roll call, the following resolution was adopted.

9.       RESOLUTION NO. 172-03 – ACKNOWLEGEMENT OF RESIGNATION – On motion by Mayor Doughty seconded by Committeemember Leusner and passed on roll call, the following resolution was adopted.

BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Committee, the Governing Body of the Township of Middle, County of Cape May and State of New Jersey, that the following resignation listed below, is acknowledged.

10.     RESOLUTION NO. 173-03 – EMERGENCY TEMPORARY BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS – On motion by Committeemember Leusner seconded by Committeemember DeLanzo and passed on roll call, the following resolution was adopted.

WHEREAS, an emergent condition has arisen and no adequate provision has been made in the 2003 temporary appropriations for the aforesaid purpose; and NJSA 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above mentioned, and

WHEREAS, the total emergency temporary resolutions adopted pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 96 PL 1951 (NJSA 40A:4-20) including this resolution total  $491,000

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED (not less than two-thirds of all members thereof affirmatively concurring) that in accordance with NJSA 40A:4-20

  1. An emergency temporary appropriation be and the same is hereby made in the amount of  $491,000

That said emergency temporary appropriation shall be provided for in the 2003 budget under the title of:

  1. That one certified copy of this resolution be filed with the Director of Local Government Services.
