I hereby declare that notice has been given to the Herald Times, the Atlantic City Press and posted on the bulletin board of the Middle Township Municipal Building, stating the time and place of the following meeting, as required in P.L. 1975, Chapter 231 of the State of New Jersey. (Sunshine Law).

The Township Committee met on the above date at 6:00 PM at the Middle Township Municipal Building.  Members present were Mayor Doughty, Committeemember Leusner and Committeemember DeLanzo, Clerk/ Administrator Alexis, Attorney Gorman, Engineer Orlando, & Deputy Clerk Kimberly Tomkinson

 

 

  1. RESOLUTION NO. 239-03 – RECOGNIZING AND EXPRESSING GRATITUDE FOR THE CONTINUING EFFORTS OF AARP CHAPTER PRESIDENT MINNIE CALLENDAR - On motion by Mayor Doughty seconded by Committeemember Leusner and passed on roll call, the following resolution was adopted.

WHEREAS, AARP is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to addressing the needs and interests of persons 50 and older. Through information and education, advocacy and service, they seek to enhance the quality of life for all by promoting independence, dignity and purpose, and

WHEREAS, their vision is to excel as a dynamic presence in every community by shaping and enriching the experience of aging for each member and for society, and

WHEREAS, the Township Committee of the Township of Middle wishes to thank Mrs. Minnie Callender, AARP Chapter No. 1182 President, for her continuing efforts to promote independence, dignity and purpose for older persons through the AARP by providing information and resources to assist members to serve their communities and enhance the quality of life for it’s residents.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Committee of the Township of Middle, that the sincere and thorough efforts of Mrs. Minnie Callender, AARP Chapter No. 1182 President are hereby recognized.

 

  1. PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATE OF CONGRATULATIONS; DOM WOOTEN, MATTHEW SHEPPARD, SARAH STUDZINSKI

 

  1. ORDINANCE NO. 1128-03 – VACATING A PORTION OF SEVENTH AVENUE AS SHOWN ON PAGE 29.15 OF THE TAX MAP OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MIDDLE  – On motion by Mayor Doughty seconded by Committeemember DeLanzo and passed on roll call, Ordinance No 1128-03 passed first reading. Second reading, public hearing and consideration for adoption will be held on 07/07/2003 at 6:00 p.m.

 

  1. BOND ORDINANCE NO. 1137-03 – BOND ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR

WHITESBORO/EDGEWOOD PHASE I SANITARY SEWER PROJECT IN AND BY THE TOWNSHIP OF MIDDLE, IN THE COUNTY OF CAPE MAY, NEW JERSEY,

APPROPRIATING $4,355,000 THEREFORE AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $3,039,000 BONDS OR NOTES OF THE TOWNSHIP FOR FINANCING THE COST THEREOF. - On motion by Mayor Doughty seconded by Committeemember DeLanzo and passed on roll call, Ordinance No 1137-03 passed first reading. Second reading, public hearing and consideration for adoption will be held on 07/07/2003 at 6:00 p.m.

 

  1. RESOLUTION NO. 240-03 – AMENDING 2003 BUDGET - On motion by Mayor Doughty seconded by Committeemember Leusner and passed on roll call, the following resolution was adopted.

 

WHEREAS, the local municipal budget for the year 2003 was approved on the 3rd day of March, 2003 and

 

WHEREAS, the public hearing on said budget has been held as advertised, and

 

 

 

 

WHEREAS, it is desired to amend said approved budget, now

 

 

 

 

 

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Committee of the Township of Middle, County of Cape May that
