I hereby declare that notice has been given to the Herald Times, the Gazette-Leader, and the Atlantic City Press and posted on the bulletin board of the Middle Township Municipal Building stating the time and place of the following meeting as required in P.L.  Chapter 231 of the State of New Jersey (Sunshine Law).

 

The Middle Township meeting was called to order by James Alexis, Township Clerk on the above date at 12:00 PM in the Municipal Building. The purpose of this meeting is to reorganize for the year 2005.

 

Assemblyman Jeff Van Drew swore in newly elected Committeemember Susan Atkinson DeLanzo for a three-year term.

 

On motion by Committeemember Leusner seconded by Committeemember DeLanzo and passed on roll call, F. Nathan Doughty was chosen as Mayor for the year 2005. Assemblyman Jeff Van Drew swore in the Mayor.

 

On motion by Committeemember DeLanzo seconded by Mayor Doughty and passed on roll call, Charles M. Leusner was chosen to act as Mayor in the absence of the Mayor. Committeemember Leusner will be sworn in at a later date and time.

2.      ORDINANCE NO. 1178-05 – AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 229-9 OF THE CODE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MIDDLE REGARDING TOWING CONTRACTS – On motion by Committeemember Leusner seconded by Committeemember DeLanzo and passed on roll call, Ordinance No. 1178-05 passed first reading. Second reading, public hearing and consideration for adoption will be held on 02/07/2005 at 6:00 p.m.

 

3.      ORDINANCE NO.1179-05 - AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION OF THE OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MIDDLE – On motion by Committeemember Leusner seconded by Committeemember DeLanzo and passed on roll call, Ordinance No 1179-05 passed first reading. Second reading, public hearing and consideration for adoption will be held on 02/07/2005 at 6:00 p.m.

 

4.      ORDINANCE NO. 1180-05 – A BOND ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING VARIOUS IMPROVEMENTS AT THE FORT APACHE RECREATION AREA IN THE TOWNSHIP OF MIDDLE, COUNTY OF CAPE MAY, NEW JERSEY; APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $950,000 THEREFOR AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OR BOND ANTICIPATION NOTES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MIDDLE, COUNTY OF CAPE MAY, NEW JERSEY, IN THE AGGREGATE PRINCIPLE AMOUNT OF UP TO $902,500; MAKING CERTAIN DETERMINATIONS AND COVENANTS; AND AUTHORIZING CERTAIN RELATED ACTIONS IN CONNECTION WITH THE FOREGOING - On motion by Committeemember Leusner seconded by Committeemember DeLanzo and passed on roll call, Ordinance No 1180-05 passed first reading. Second reading, public hearing and consideration for adoption will be held on 02/07/2005 at 6:00 p.m.

 

5.      ORDINANCE NO. 1181-05 – AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NEW FEE SCHEDULE FOR OBTAINING VITAL STATISTIC RECORDS; AMENDING CHAPTER 265, ENTITLED “FEES”, OF THE CODE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MIDDLE, COUNTY OF CAPE MAY, NEW JERSEY - On motion by Committeemember Leusner seconded by Committeemember DeLanzo and passed on roll call, Ordinance No 1181-05 passed first reading. Second reading, public hearing and consideration for adoption will be held on 02/07/2005 at 6:00 p.m.

 

6.      RESOLUTION NO. 1-05 – APPOINTMENTS 2005 – On motion by Committeemember Leusner seconded by Committeemember DeLanzo and passed on roll call, the following resolution was adopted.
